The progression Sketch Orks has for this is almost the same, except that all the dominant chords have an added flat nine, and the bridge is different. The bridge reads like this:
Ab Abm/ Gm7 C7b9/ Fm7 Bb7b9/ Eb Eb7/ Ab Abm/ Gm7 C7b9/ Fm7 Bb7b9/
What is interesting is that where the chord changes from Eb to Eb7, the melody is running up Bb C D - a major 7th against a dominant chord- up to Eb in the next bar, and when the chord changes from Ab major to Ab minor the melody is C to Ab- a major 3rd against a minor chord .
Listening to the live version, even though I never analyzed it note by note, it sounds like Bird is simply playing in the prevailing key and not bothering with the flat ninths, whereas when the guitar player solos he tries to include them.
I heard that they used to argue about it- the guitar player saying you had to play the notes that were in the chord and Bird saying that you didn't.

Now I wrote lyrics to My Littel Suede Shoes myself - the only problem is: they are in viennese dialekt - who will understand them?

Olaf, do you now anyone who has sung the song? I only know this as an instrumental.

I did a search of the BMI repretoire database and it showed only performances by instrumentalists
